Hennecke sets up agency in South America

By Urethanes Technology International
Posted 24 September 2009 8:24 am GMT
Polyurethane equipment specialist Hennecke GmbH has established a new agency in South America in cooperation with Argentinean hydraulic press maker Jose Iturrospe SAIC.

The two companies said in a 16 Sept statement that they will cooperate in selling Hennecke products and on qualified technical customer services.

Iturrospe, headquartered in Rosario in the Argentinean Province of Santa Fe, was set up in 1950, and, says Hennecke, has “an excellent knowledge of the market and plenty of experience in the local mechanical engineering sector.” This makes the company an valuable partner for the systematic expansion of the Hennecke sales and service network on the American continent, the company added.

This new agency is a response to the “increasing potential of the South American market and the growing demand for high quality, polyurethane-based

products within the region,” Hennecke management indicated.

The group’s experienced team of sales specialists and technical experts wants to support processors of those products with a broad spectrum of services in the local language and guarantee the shortest possible response times for delivery of plant and machine technology as well as spare parts.

Hennecke and Iturrospe will also pool their know-how in terms of high quality hydraulic presses for the discontinuous manufacture of polyurethane sandwich panels. Within this product group, the new agency covers the whole South American land surface up to the state border of Panama and Cuba.

Iturrospe will offer the complete Hennecke portfolio, except in Brazil, where long-term and competent Hennecke partner RoWe will continue to deal with local customers.

New RIDGID Press Snap Soil Pipe Cutter Provides Fast And Easy Cutting Of Cast Iron Soil Pipe

New RIDGID Press Snap Soil Pipe Cutter Provides Fast And Easy Cutting Of Cast Iron Soil Pipe

September 23, 2009

Elyria, OH - The RIDGID Press Snap soil pipe cutter expands the capabilities of RIDGID standard press tools by providing a fast and easy way to cut cast iron soil pipe.

The Press Snap cutter eliminates the need for manual ratcheting when it is connected to a RIDGID press tool. To make a cut, the Press Snap cutter is attached to the press tool, the Press Snap chain wraps around the pipe, and the user presses the trigger to make the cut. There is no need to score the pipe beforehand. The Press Snap cutter cuts most 1-½- to 4-inch no hub and service weight soil pipe. It works with all RIDGID standard press tools, including the CT-400, 320-E, RP 330-B and RP 330-C.

"The Press Snap soil pipe cutter provides additional functionality to RIDGID press tools," said David Roberts, plumbing and pressing technologies. "The new Press Snap cutter enables users to cut soil pipe in seconds with minimal effort."

RIDGID pressing technology consists of electro-hydraulic press tools with interchangeable jaws and rings that press and connect copper, stainless steel, and PEX tubing in seconds.

September 22, 2009 - Dual-action hydraulic press, aided by custom tooling, can produce accurate prototype products for analysis and testing. Its 2-axis design replicates manufacturing operation and produces samples with properties similar to those required in actual production. Built around 20-ton vertical cylinder and 5-ton horizontal cylinder that operate in force-over-time mode as selected in operator interface, press also features electronic controls, 10 in. screen, and Ethernet connectivity.

New 2-Axis Hydraulic Press for Prototyping and Production Simulation

In many high-volume production operations, the synchronized application of vertical and horizontal force on the end product is critical. Pressure must be applied and released from both axes simultaneously and at the same rate. Phoenix has designed a dual-action hydraulic press that, with the aid of custom tooling, can produce accurate prototype products for analysis and testing. The two-axis design replicates the manufacturing operation, and produces samples with very similar properties to those required in actual production. As an example, pharmaceutical scientists determine the proportion of drug compounds and inactive ingredients in medicinal tablets. Prior to volume production, sample tablets produced by the Phoenix press are tested for mechanical properties to minimize development time in the manufacturing process. The heart of the press consists of a 20 ton vertical cylinder and a 5 ton horizontal cylinder. The cylinders operate in a force-over-time mode as selected in the operator interface. The ramp time for each cylinder is 30 to 60 seconds, with a hold time ranging from 5 seconds to two minutes. Pressure is controlled to within ± 5 percent. Electronic press controls include a Delta Motion Controller, Micrologix 1100, and a PanelView operator interface with a 10" screen. PLC/HMI communications are provided through Ethernet connections.
